Tools and Activities to Fortify Your Success
Spa Body Makeover weekly weight loss learning activities include many fun and informative classes that help you to stay on track and immerse yourself in an environment for success. These activities include one on one body shaping sessions four times per week, monitored fat burning cardio sessions customized to your target heart rate as well as a $300 credit to use each week towards treatments and products at the spa. In between activities and meals, or during your free time, we encourage you to pamper yourself with a massage, a new hair style, and even a facial!

Relaxing
Although this is not a formal class, it is a very important component to our successful body transformation. Your body changes when you are resting. Therefore, we encourage you to rest and truly recuperate during your stay. We offer many wonderful, informative classes to learn and fortify your new healthy habit. However, please remember to rest as much as you like because it is part of your transformation process.
Nutrition lecture
This informative class teaches the backbone of our philosophy. The Nutrition Lecture is a one hour class designed to improve your understanding of what is happening in your body and why.
Cooking class
Late afternoon on Wednesdays, we offer a cooking class where you can apply your new nutrition knowledge to the kitchen with delicious, new recipes and cooking techniques so that you can slim down AND enjoy your food.
Visualization session
The visualization class focuses your energy on designing your step by step plan of action to achieve your new body. You will learn to visualize yourself in your dream body, you will be guided along visualization exercises to help fortify your mental attitude and learn how to think healthy.
Local farmer's market tour
Every Wednesday morning (weather permitting) you will have the option to take a tour of the local Farmers Market. Many of Los Angeles' best know chefs and restaurants, including many celebrities, come to the Santa Monica farmer's market every week.
Ordering healthy food on the road class
This class is a real eye opener- How much sodium are you really getting when you order out and how do you avoid it? What do you do when you are away from your meals? The ordering healthy food on the road class focuses on the challenges of eating out.
Eating
Yes, this is a mandatory activity at our weight loss spa. Eating is the catalyst for accelerating your metabolism. Exercise will only speed up your metabolism for a short while and then it will decline again. Furthermore, people achieve sustained weight loss by accelerating their metabolism, not by starving.

Cardio
Our cardiovascular exercise is designed for optimal fat burning. Studies have shown that the human body burns more fat at lower intensity levels than at higher intensity levels.
Body shaping exercise
Your training will be customized to your unique body and you will see your body quickly start to shape in a way you want.
Optional exercise classes
Your program has been scientifically optimized for the best possible weight loss and body shaping results. All activities have been factored in and the meals have been designed around this level. However, if you would like to engage in other activities during your stay, we recommend that you only do so once or twice per week. In such a case, yoga, spinning, bike rides, and pilates are all available as an additional option to your regimen. Please keep in mind that spinning increases the size of the thighs and therefore, we do not recommend this form of exercise for our female guests. In addition, it is not a fat burning cardio as it is too high intensity.
Lending Library
For your convenience, we have a number of inspirational, informative and entertaining books including classics, fiction, thrillers and more. Our lending library is complimentary during your stay.
Surrounding Area
Santa Monica, and surrounding areas offer a wide variety of shopping, sight seeing, and other activities. We highly recommend taking your down time to rest, and allow your body to recuperate. However, if you would like to explore and see all of what Los Angeles has to offer, your weekends are free to do so. We can provide (with 24 hour notice) meals to go to afford you a day away from the Spa. Take Home Program
In a one on one session which will take place towards the end of your stay, one of our consultants will design an easy to follow program for you to take home. Our goal is to set you up for success by providing you with the knowledge and the confidence to know that you can. Once at home, our team will keep track of your progress and follow up with you to make sure your questions are answered. We will problem solve your day to day routine so your program works around your lifestyle. Thus making your home a health spa ...masseuse not included!

Customized Body Type Workout DVD
Would you like a more detailed exercise reminder? Workout with two of our spa trainers at home with the new "BODY TYPE WORKOUT" DVD series. Our workout DVD's offer 2 separate customized exercise routines for your unique body type just as you would perform at the spa! Each DVD offers guided visualization, proper breathing techniques, and a separate menu option for detailed exercise instructions. Each DVD retails for $20.
Traveling Spa Trainer
Our program is available to come to you. Many of our guests use this option as a quarterly maintenance program to keep progressing at optimal levels. Our specially trained Makeover Specialist will bring our program to your home. You will receive all the classes, monitored fat burning cardio sessions on your schedule, one on one body shaping workouts, and supervised weight loss cuisine. All the healthy activities and benefits from the top weight loss spa, in the comfort of your own home.
